A GRAND 20th Century Bronze Life-size Statue of Roman God Mercury on a 19th Century English Terracotta Pedestal. MERCURY is THE ROMAN GOD OF SHOPKEEPERS AND MERCHANTS, TRAVELLERS AND TRANSPORTERS OF GOODS, THIEVES AND TRICKSTERS.  HE IS COMMONLY IDENTIFIED WITH THE GREEK HERMES, THE FLEET-FOOTED MESSENGER OF THE GODS. HE IS PLACED IN THE ENTRANCE OF AYNHOE PARK LOOKING ONTO TO THE HOUSE.
